A public program.

The Fourteen Root Vows of Vajrayana are more subtle yet more all-pervasive than the traditional Buddhist monastic vows. Although central to Vajrayana Buddhism, the Fourteen Root Vows can be applied to any way of life, if that way of life is followed as a path of developing kindness and awareness. Ngak'chang Rinpoche will discuss the Fourteen Root Vows as useful benchmarks for living a magnanimous and fulfilled human life, whether or not one is a Vajrayana practitioner, and whether or not one considers oneself to be a Buddhist.

On Friday evening, Rinpoche will offer the dBang (empowerment) of Black Chenrezigs Yab-yum--the radiant black yogi and yogini in ecstatic embrace, the immense brilliance of the cloudless night sky as active compassion.
