The Complete Foundation of Dzogchen in Fourteen Visions of Düd ’jom Lingpa
‘This
retreat will recreate the dynamic atmosphere of an encampment of yogis
and yoginis in the Tibetan
Tantric tradition. This is an opportunity to spend ten days in an ambience
of kindness, merriment, and freedom. No previous knowledge of Buddhism
or Dzogchen are required; simply a fire of enthusiasm for life; and
the capacity for fierce participation, unbridled affection; and laughter
that tastes the edge of impossibility.’
--
Ngak’chang Rinpoche MORNING & EVENING PROGRAMME Teachings, group and solitary practice, questions & answers. 'The process
of effortless meditation...free of any sense of 'this is to be done'
or 'this is how to do it'...in
which there is nothing to meditate upon, yet neither is there any distraction...timeless awareness
effortlessly and spontaneously present.' --
Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche Düd’jom
Lingpa (1835-1904),
one of the greatest Lamas of his era, wrote a 'vision diary' that has
become one of the most popular presentations of the Dzogchen path. Such
classic texts however can be difficult to access directly. Ngala Rig'dzin
Dorje and Tsal'gyür Wangmo will read, explain and comment, enabling
this great work to answer the needs of any meditator. Each day one
or more of Düd ’jom Lingpa's visions will supply the keynote,
supported by Dzogchen exercises using the mind, psycho-physical energy,
and physical body. Yogic practice involves the use of body, energy and
mind, in conjunction with the natural great elements of Earth, Water,
Fire, Air and Space. Those who are prepared to experience themselves
and their world in a different way may learn there is a real and accessible
interaction between the outer elements, and the inner elements of our
psychology. Once the gentle thunder of this connection is experienced
it is no longer possible to experience depression, addiction or boredom:
the first step is taken to mastering one's life. AFTERNOON PROGRAMME A varied programme of events in a holiday atmosphere; practical opportunities to realise 'the Yoga of Space'. 'At all
times while going about, sitting, shifting, moving...speaking aloud
or otherwise conducting yourself...you
are aware of your fundamental nature becoming evident.' -- Düd
’jom Lingpa In any activities, including leisure activities, co-ordinating all the senses (the hand, the eye, the hearing, the mind) with the sense-fields one finds oneself in the Great Space underlying all one's experience. - Tsal'gyür Wangmo will introduce techniques of Tibetan thangka painting. - Archery classes with international professional teachers. - Classes in the Dzogchen physical yogas. - Forest & seashore walks, & swimming. Childrens' programme. - Personal interviews with Ngala Rig’dzin Dorje & Tsal'gyür Wangmo, for individual guidance and practical advice |
