Echoes: the Boudhanath Teachings, by Thinley Norbu Rinpoche

Study group with Zér-mé Dri´mèd

Meeting every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Pacific Time
ZOOM California
CA, US

These teachings were first given in 1977 by Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, at the request of students of his father, Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche. He spoke to a small group of Westerners in Boudhanath, Nepal, with some Bhutanese and Tibetans in the audience as well. Thinley Norbu Rinpoche gave a no-holds-barred explanation of Vajrayana Buddhist topics and the challenges Westerners face in authentically learning, practicing, and transmitting Buddhism. He highlighted both the obstacles and the way to navigate beyond them.

The teaching was first published in an edition of 100 copies in 1977. In this new edition, published in 2016, Echoes has received some additional editing from William Koblensky's original translation to harmonize with Rinpoche's style in English.
