Summer RetreatRetreat with Déwang Pamo and Traktung Dorje
August 30st to September 5th 2021
“We are not separate from our world, or anyone in our world. We cannot say of anything ‘This has nothing to do with me’. We are not separate as beings. This idea of connection is subtle, because our connection can take any form. Only our innate kindness—liberated through meditation—can guide us to respond accurately.”
- Ngak'chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen During this week at the Hohe Wand near Vienna, Ngakma Déwang and Naljorpa Traktung will be offering teachings that focus on the Dzogchen view and meditation methods according to the Aro gTér. There will be extensive sitting practice, yogic song, and instruction into the physical exercises of sKu-mNyé, as well as the possibility to engage in craft activities. Teachings will also explore vajra romance (Khandro dPa’wo Nyi-da Mélong Gyüd). In the evenings, emphasis will be put on exploring selected hagiographies and methods of the 84 Mahasiddhas. As we become familiar with these teachings, we discover the methods of those Buddhist practicioners who have searched and found inspiration in their daily life, their personal environment and livelyhood in India many centuries ago. We will find out how their methods are still applicable and highly effective today. This retreat is open to anyone who is interested in receiving teachings and practicing meditation according to the Aro gTér lineage. No background is required, just openness to find out what it can mean to hear Buddhist teachings and put them to practice. There will be ample opportunity to clarify individual questions, and for private conversation with the teachers. Families with children are very welcome. |
Teachings will be in German and English.
Further details will be communicated after registration. We ask for kind cooperation in advance to ensure that the risk of infection is minimized and the health of the retreat participants is not endangered. All Aro gTer retreats are non-smoking events. Smokers are welcome to attend, but in accordance with Nyingma teaching, and Vajrayana Buddhism in general, we require participants to desist from the smoking of tobacco for the entire duration of the retreat – both on or off the premises where retreats are held. Tobacco in any form should not be brought to the retreat. |
