Meditation and yogic song – beginners and experienced meditators welcome. Short periods of meditation are interspersed with yogic song and chant. Discover emptiness and self-awareness.

Exploring Vajrayana – The Aro gTér is a small Nyingma Lineage. but encompasses a vast range of Buddhist teachings. Based in Dzogchen, the teachings include the scope of Sutra and Tantra, but always with reference to the Dzogchen view of nonduality. This morning session is open to all. Particular topics will be explored in detail at each session.

Tantric Crafts – The Arts are an important aspect of the practice of Tantra. In the Aro gTér. practitioners create and improve their practice equipment to make their relationship with such equipment more powerful and personal. Craftwork may include: creating a mat upon which to place instruments and a songbook; creating a rainbow banner (chö-phen) to decorate and balance a drum; filing bells and drums to make them finer; making bags to protect instruments when travelling; framing a thangka; making a meditation strap (gom-tag), and so on. Other items that can be created are specifically craft as practice – such as a protection amulet, or a namkha (woven thread cross) which weaves the elements of the emotions through the symbolism of coloured thread. Please bring your own tantric craft project. Instruction, and suggestions for projects, can be offered to people who are new or unfamiliar with tantric craftwork. Basic tools will be available, such as sewing machines, a dremel, files, etc. Materials are not generally provided, but some will be available to purchase at cost if needed.
