Entering the Year of the Fire Bird

Friends only with Ngak´chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen

The evening of Monday 27th of February 2017
Frog's Leap, Penarth
Vale of Glamorgan, UK
A Tibetan Lunar New Year Festival in honour of Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and Jomo Sam’phel Déchen.

Next year will be the Fire bird Year – and, to acclaim this new beginning, Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen invite all apprentices and friends to a ‘secular celebration’ of our Tibetan roots.

Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and Jomo Sam’phel made a practise of wearing the lay-costume of their birth regions in Tibet at Losar and likewise performing the dances from those regions. The incorporation of the secular world is important in terms of honouring the cultural heritage of the world region which was the birthplace of our Nyingma Lineage. This will be an occasion devoted to the Arts: culinary, musical, sartorial, and choreographic – with a recitation of the love-poetry of Ngak’chang Tsang-yang Gyamtso (the 6th Dalai Lama) as translated by Ngak’chang Rinpoche.
