How do we react in the face of fear, disorientation, and chaos? What happens when the structure of our lives falls apart and our hopes come to nothing?
gÇod (chöd) means ‘severance’ - severing the worship of the human form as the sole indicator of existence. These Aro gTér teachings and practices were originated by the great Tibetan yogini Ma-gÇig Labdrön (1055-1145) and received in the 20th Century by Aro Lingma (1886-1923). They provide a powerful means of becoming open and fearless in times of crisis. Ideally, they also enable practitioners to bring comfort and support to others who are challenged by the tumultuous, ever-changing world in which we live.
During this weekend, teachings on visionary practice and practices of Dzogchen ‘yogic song’ will provide the basis for an introduction into the Lama’i Naljor of Ma-gÇig Labdrön. The transmission of the gTérma melody of Ma-gÇig Labdrön’s mantra, as well as empowerment of the Lama’i Naljor and visionary practice of Ma-gÇig Labdrön will be offered on Saturday evening.
Ngak’chang Rinpoche will also provide in depth explanations and transmission of the essential gÇod of Ma-gÇig Labdrön, as experienced through the Secret gÇod and Utterly Essential gÇod.

“Through cutting addiction to corporeal form as ‘the major reference point of expectance’; we become free, not only of fear – but of persecutory hope. Hope is often merely fear in disguise – a wretched demon who drives us with the whips and goads in the direction of needless misery. gÇod unmasks false hope and facilitates the ability to live joyously – free from both hope and fear.” Ngak’chang Rinpoche

Ngak’chang Rinpoche is the incarnation of Aro Lingma’s son, Aro Yeshé (1915-1951). – and it was to him that she first taught the Aro gTér.
